All pets have their teeth and gums examined by our doctors at their routine wellness visits.

Our licensed technical staff performs routine dental cleanings on dogs and cats of all ages. The procedures include high speed ultrasonic cleaning, polishing and fluoride treatments.

We have the capability to take dental radiographs, looking for diseased tooth roots which may cause infection and pain for the pet.

If necessary, our doctors perform both simple and surgical extractions of diseased teeth.

Special considerations, such as preanesthetic blood work, intravenous catheter and fluid therapy, and special anesthesia protocols, are taken with compromised or older pets.

Periodontal disease is the most common disease in dogs and cats. Approximately 85% of dogs and cats have some form of the disease. Pets may experience pain, bad breath, and eventually tooth loss due to the disease. Chronic infections can spread to the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys. Routine dentistry can prevent periodontal disease.
